there are times in the day where I can feel myself beginning to freeze. time slips away and I can sit like concrete. I am aware of these moments as they happen though I can’t predict their coming. there is nothing to do once they set in. I must simply sit in the still and wait for it to pass.
I wonder if there are others in this city that sit in such moments.
Saw an Aunt post this pic of my Grandmother and Grandfather with her as a baby. Was struck by my Grandfather’s smile. It’s still the same over half a century later.

About someone
In the greater
Vancouver area
Dying in an accident
I worry that it’s you
Your scabbed knees
Stuck to the
Inside of your jeans
And a foot race
From gravel road
To dry creek bed
We brought
Two dogs in tow
And sticks as swords
For adventures
Circling the windbreaker trees
